Tom + Joel’s Same Sex Wedding Venue
After Covid ruined their original wedding plans, Tom and Joel chose Rocklea Farm for their same sex wedding venue.
Tom and Joel were married just before Christmas last year, it was in fact our last wedding for 2020. What a special way to end what was a very challenging year! They had both put their hearts into making this a special day not only for each other but for all of their guests. Their ceremony was also live streamed to all of the family and friends from all over the world who were unable to attend due to lockdown.
During their wedding rehearsal, Tom had let us know that there was a big surprise happening for Joel on the day. A good friend of Joel’s had secretly flown back and quarantined from the UK especially for the occasion. However we soon learnt that Joel also had a surprise planned for Tom. Could these guys get any cuter?! His surprise was one of the highlights and first for us here at Rocklea Farm. Joel sang a jazzy number for Tom during their reception accompanied by Tom’s grandfather on saxophone.
To keep the same sex wedding venue intimate for their 40 guests, we planned both the ceremony and reception to take place in our barn and marquee. Their close family and friends physically and digitally watched as the boys got married in front of the barn door with spectacular flowers attached to our arbour. After the ceremony, guests went out to take photos on the lawn and were offered canapes and drinks.
Tom and Joel’s same sex wedding venue was filled with love from near and far.
